This is the fifth exhibition that galerie beaumontpublic devotes to Bernard Piffaretti. The motto “Poncif” refers to the pouncing technique employed by the artist and which he interprets as follows: I aim to present the painting’s theme so that the banality becomes an ideal standard. The routine rendering of the picture indicates a duration where actions accumulate in an anti-theatrical manner. The way in which the imaginary can enter here is through a pouncing pattern (poncif). These pictures are metaphors resulting from an involuntary projection. Here, the banal and the typical are one and singular conditions become generalized to end any appearance. My creative method is a conscious visualization of itself and aims at a double finality: reproduce the same type of object without relying too much on subjectivity.

The exhibit attempts to illustrate this statement through 17 paintings with rich pictorial effects.

At the end of the exhibition, the gallery will edit a brochure with a text by Isabelle Ewig.
